6 Air Purifying House Plants

1. Bamboo Palm: According to NASA, it removes formaldehyde and is also said to act as a natural humidifier.

2. Snake Plant: Found by NASA to absorb nitrogen oxides and formaldehyde.

3. Areca Palm: One of the best air purifying plants for general air cleanliness.

4. Spider Plant: Great indoor plant for removing carbon monoxide and other toxins or impurities. Spider plants are one of three plants NASA deems best at removing formaldehyde from the air.

5. Peace Lily: Peace lilies could be called the “clean-all.” They’re often placed in bathrooms or laundry rooms because they’re known for removing mold spores. Also know to remove formaldehyde and trichloroethylene.

6. Gerbera Daisy: Not only do these gorgeous flowers remove benzene from the air, they’re known to improve sleep by absorbing carbon dioxide and giving off more oxygen over night.

  1. Just know that the Spider Plant and Peace Lily are toxic to cats and dogs!

  4. Really great article thanks for sharing, wish you would get rid of the guilt trip at the end as it ruins your whole ethos..
This is my first time coming to your blog and it seems weird and awkward. I really want to share the content but not if it has that attached to it

  5. You know, for such an important post, and one where you chide people for being too lazy to grow plants, comparing and contrasting them to yourselves, AND claiming NASA listed these plants as beneficial, you should make certain you spell ALL words correctly.

    It's "formaldEhyde".

  6. Did you just tell people to die if they are busy? I think I'll avoid these plant is 'becoming a bitch' is a side effect. Might want to rethink your life style. Way too much anger in you.

  7. Came here from Pinterest and thought the list was nice, even if you can't spell formaldehyde. Then the article got needlessly aggressive at the end and ruined it. A blog that tells its readers to go die isn't one I want to subscribe to.

  9. I, too found this site because of Pinterest but refuse to repin because of the nastiness of the blog. Assuming you may have posted this information to help people you do no one any favors by becoming defensive, hostile, and downright mean.

  11. Yes... I did find it awkward at the end. Helpful post... But not sure about repinning.

  12. To green up your house is extremely important, however, it can take sometimes too much time. I've found some ideas for such lazy-bones like me:
    Green-up.
By the way, I followed you up with GFC, it'd be great if you follow me back.

  14. Nice post but too rude and hostile at the end and for that reason I won't be pinning.
