Oil pulling and oral health.

Oil Pulling is such an interesting process and subject. Aside from all the magical and mystical healing attributed to it what I really notice most from doing it is that it cleans and freshens my mouth more than anything I have used or tried before, and for me that is a good enough reason for me to continue to do it often.

The general outline/guidelines for doing the process is to take 1 tablespoon of raw organic coconut oil and to swish it around your mouth and in and out of your teeth for at least fifteen minutes. After this period spit the oil out into the sink and rinse your mouth with fresh water, DO NOT swallow the oil as it supposedly contains all the toxins from your mouth.

What I like to do is to add in a few more bits and bobs to take it to the next level. What you will require to do so is the following:

1 tsp of bobs red mill baking soda (baking soda, NOT baking powder)
5 drops of Quinessance organic peppermint ( or cinnamon or clove) essential oil
4 sprays of Ancient Minerals magnesium oil

Put everything into your mouth and and mix it together, after 30 seconds it will turn into one homogenous liquid mass and then begin the same process described above for 15 minutes.

Here is a video in the same vein for those interested in exploring the topic of oral health care further.
